Meet the Director

Debra T. DayDebra T. Day
Director of Development
Bagwell College of Education

Debra T. Day joined University Development as Director of Development for the Bagwell College of Education in August of 2007. She is currently focused on raising funds for the Bagwell College to build the Early Learning Center which will serve up to 300 ‘birth to five-year-old’ children in the lab school. Debra began her service to Kennesaw State University in 2004 as the Coordinator of the Anne Frank and WWII exhibits at KSU Center and she still continues to serve on the exhibit’s advisory council.

Prior to coming to KSU, Debra served as the Coordinator for the Homeland Security for Retired and Senior Volunteer Program in Akron, Ohio. Debra also served as the Assistant Director of Career Services at The University of Akron.

Debra is a veteran of the United States Army. She served on active duty for ten years, as a reservist for five years, and as a civil servant for ten years. During her military service Debra received her Masters in Counseling from Long Island University at the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as a Career Development Counselor. Debra’s tours of duty have included Germany, Panama (during Operation Just Cause and the U.S. invasion of Panama) as well as many locations throughout the United States.

Very active in public service, Debra currently serves on the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education Committee; the Four Year Exploratory Committee; and the Paulding County Executive Women’s Program. She is a member of the American Association of University Professionals; Phi Delta Kappa, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education; the Rotary Club of Marietta; and the Cobb County Policy Council on Children and Families. She is also featured in the 10th Anniversary Edition of Who’s Who of Black Atlanta.

Debra lives in Marietta with her husband Todd, who is a retired military officer. They have two daughters, Nicole who is a retail management professional, and Melissa who is a lieutenant in the Air Force.
