Meet The Director
George Olney
George Olney graduated from Adelphi University in 1971 and completed 25 years in the telecom industry. He retired in 2004 as Director of Sales for the southeast U.S. messaging business unit to join KSU in May 2004. George began his career at KSU in May 2004 as the Director of Development for Athletics after serving as a long time booster of the KSU athletic program and in 2003 being Vice Chairman of the KSU Athletic Feasibility Study. This study helped to lead KSU into NCAA Division I athletic competition. George is responsible for all fundraising for the KSU athletic program including both annual funds and large capital campaigns for major gifts. He leads a team of five overseeing the Development, Marketing, Ticketing, Promotions and Sports Information at this NCAA Division I, 21,000 student university. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, and they have two grown daughters who were both All State high school athletes. They are also the proud grandparents of a beautiful young girl, born in Sicily while her father was deployed for the US Navy.
