Frequently
Asked Questions
Q:
Where is the Preliminary Program?
A.
The preliminary program will be at the following link:
http://www.kennesaw.edu/globalinstitute/kdprogram.html.
If it is not there right now, please check back later.
Q.
How is my panel organized?
A.
Participants will receive instructions later. If you
have questions at this time, about the conference or
any other thing, contact Maggie Scott at mscott@kennesaw.edu,
or Dr. Akanmu Adebayo at aadebayo@kennesaw.edu.
Q.
What about technology needs for my presentation?
A.
Most rooms come fully equipped with the latest presentation
technology and high-speed Internet access. We only ask
that you bring your laptop. Reason is to ensure that
your presentation works the way you set it up. However,
it is okay if you don’t want to bring your own
laptop. We will have a laptop available. Do come with
a flash drive of your presentation and we’ll work
with that. As a back-up plan, you may also place the
material online at your institution.
Q.
What happens to my paper after the conference?
A.
Possibly, publication. The paper will undergo blind
peer review. Authors will be invited to make corrections
or update the paper following the suggestion of anonymous
readers. We plan to publish the papers a volume of the
Institute for Global Initiatives journal, the Journal
of Global Initiatives.
Q:
How do I register for the conference?
A:
Instructions on registration will become available soon
at the following link: http://www.kennesaw.edu/globalinstitute/kdregistration.html.
Please check back later or contact Maggie Scott at mscott@kennesaw.edu.
Q:
Where do I stay and how can I make my hotel arrangements?
A.
The conference is at the KSU campus. There are many
hotels nearby and hotel room rates vary. Participants
are to select their preference from the list of hotels
provided at the following link: http://www.kennesaw.edu/globalinstitute/kdhotel.htm.
While we recommend SpringHill Suites, participants are
free to make their own room reservation at their preferred
hotel near the KSU campus.
Q:
How do I make my travel arrangements?
A:
Kennesaw State University is in the northwest corner
of metro Atlanta. Participants are to make their own
travel arrangements to fly into Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson
International Airport. KSU is about 40 miles northwest
of the airport, on Exit 271 off Interstate 75. In good
traffic, the drive is about 40 minutes.
Q:
How do I get to KSU (Kennesaw State University) from
the airport?
A.
There are many options. You may rent a car from the
airport, take a taxi, or take a shuttle. Our best option
is the shuttle. Our Institute has used Shuttle Tran
often. Call 1-800-556-5466 to know where to be picked
up at the airport. If you are interested in limousine
service, we recommend Town Executive Limousine. Call
678-368-2043.
International
Participants: We will meet all international
participants at the airport or we will arrange pick
up by Town Executive Limousine. The specific location
will be the baggage claim belt/carousel of your flight.
Participants are to stay at this location and not wander
off. They may also call 404-786-3377 if they are having
to wait more than 30 minutes to be picked up. To be
picked up, please send Ms. Maggie Scott at mscott@kennesaw.edu
your specific arrival date and time, airline, and flight
number. Note that this arrangement applies only to international
participants.
