Schools must be regionally accredited by an agency listed here: http://www.chea.org/Directories/regional.asp

Schools must by "generally" accredited, meaning other schools (usually the flagship school of that state) generally accepts their degrees and credits. General accreditation is maintained in a database by the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
