U.S.-Brazil Consortium

Funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the Brazilian Ministry of Education, this four-year program provides an avenue for students to study abroad for one semester.  Selected U.S. students from Kennesaw State University (KSU) and California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), will be able to study in one of two universities - the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Southern Brazil or the Universidade de Pernambuco in Northern Brazil.  Likewise, selected Brazilian students from UFSC and UPE will be able to study at KSU in the Southeastern U.S. or CSULB in the Western U.S.   All students who are selected for this program will take health sciences courses during their semester abroad; additionally, students will be involved with investigating the ecological model of obesity, i.e., what cultural factors tend to promote or ameliorate obesity.
