Undergraduate Programs
B.S. in Exercise and Health Science
The Exercise and Health Science major program is designed for students seeking academic preparation in the exercise, fitness and/or health areas. This program of study prepares students to become leaders in the fitness profession, and to organize and deliver health promotion programs in private, public, or corporate wellness environments. The capstone to the program is a one academic semester internship experience working in an exercise and health science setting, or students can select pre-professional elective coursework to prepare for advanced or graduate studies, e.g., physical therapy, exercise physiology. The Health and Physical Education major program is designed to prepare students with teacher licensure in grades P-12. Course work in the discipline based core, professional skills and professional education provide students with a foundation in the sciences, behavioral sciences and field experiences. The Sport Management major program is designed for students seeking academic preparation in the business aspects of sport. Within Sport Management students can chose to concentrate in Fitness Management, Sport Communication,

The Coaching Minor is based on the Coaching Education National Standards issued by the National Association of Sport and Physical Education.
