Seniors Participating in Activities Related to Health at Kennesaw State (SPARHKS)
What
is SPARHKS?
The SPARHKS Program is designed to positively affect the
health, sense of well-being, and health knowledge of the older adult
while providing a serve-to-learn opportunity for the staff. Kennesaw
State university students and other volunteers will be working together
with the older adult to learn and have fun! SPARHKS participants will
be involved in a wide variety of health, fitness, and recreational
activities tailored to meet their individual needs.

When
is SPARHKS?
The Program meets in the spring and fall for 2 months beginning
in February and mid-September, 9:30-11:30 AM. Student assistants begin
about 1 month earlier.

Who
is eligible for SPARHKS?
People 60 years or older. (Additional limitations may be
set due to program size/facilities and other constraints)

What
does SPARHKS cost?
$5.00 donation per semester. Please make checks payable to:
Department of HPS with The SPARHKS Program in the memo section.

Student
Opportunity
Earn 1-3 credit hours. Enroll in HPS 4000 Service Learning
in HPS and enjoy a special opportunity to interact with a growing,
exciting, and very interesting segment of our population.
