Tuition Assistance Program
The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) allows eligible employees to attend classes at any USG institution under a waiver of tuition and most fees.
To be eligible for TAP waivers, employees must:
- Apply for enrollment to the teaching institution of their choosing by following normal admissions procedures, paying any applicable admissions fees and subsequently be accepted for matriculation
- Be continuously employed in a full-time benefited position for at least six months prior to applying for TAP waivers
- Have the approval of their supervisor
- Maintain a GPA of at least 2.0
- Submit a new TAP application to their home institution (employer) by the designated deadline for each term in which the waiver is desired
- ALWAYS wait to register for courses until the designated employee registration period established by their teaching institution - (Very important! Those who register prior to the designated time period will forfeit TAP eligibility.)
- Receive a grade of “C” or better in each class where a TAP waiver has been applied – (Grades below “C” or “withdrawals” will result in TAP ineligibility for the following term. Those receiving “incomplete” grades will be given one additional term to meet this requirement.)
Each term, applications for TAP waivers must be approved by the supervisor and submitted to the TAP coordinator at the home institution (employer) by the following deadlines:
- Fall Term – July 15th
- Spring Term – November 15th
- Summer Term – April 15th

KSU Registration Periods
Those employees who apply for TAP waivers by the deadlines above may register as follows:
- Spring 2008 – TAP registration begins January 2, 2008.
- Summer 2008 – TAP registration begins May 23, 2008. Those employees wanting to enroll for May Session classes should contact KSU's TAP coordinator for special registration instructions.
- Fall 2008 – TAP registration begins August 12, 2008. Those employees wanting to enroll for December Session classes should contact KSU's TAP
- Spring 2009 – TAP registration begins January 5, 2009.
