Supplemental Plans (AFLAC)

KSU offers additional policies through AFLAC. Except as designated below, premiums for these policies are deducted on a pre-tax basis. Coverage elections must be made within the first 31 days of benefited employment or during the annual open enrollment period.

Personal Accident Expenses –

This policy offers additional coverage for an employee or covered family member in the event of an accident and its associated medical treatment. It also offers an annual wellness benefit.

Personal Cancer Protection –

This policy offers additional coverage for an employee or covered family member in the event of a cancer diagnosis and its subsequent treatment. It also offers an annual wellness benefit.

Personal Recovery Plan –

This policy offers additional coverage for an employee or covered family member in the event of specified health events (such as heart attack with coronary artery bypass surgery, stroke, end-stage renal failure, major 3 rd degree burns, coma, paralysis) and their subsequent treatment.

Long Term Care Coverage –

Multiple policies are available to help protect assets when nursing home and assisted living becomes necessary. Premiums for LTC policies are deducted on an after-tax basis and coverage may be canceled at any point with proper notification to HR via the employee's HR Partner.
