Instructions for 2007 HSK Scholarship Application

2007 HSK scholarships for the Chinese Proficiency Testing (HSK) Center at Kennesaw State University are available for those who participated in the HSK test in 2006. Five HSK scholarships will be granted by Beijing to support going to China learning Chinese in 2007 summer (4 weeks). The scholarship will cover tuition, textbooks, boarding, and 800 Chinese Yuan for daily meals. The international and domestic travel expense is self-supported.

Fudan University in Shanghai is our host university this year. The summer Chinese learning program in Fudan University is scheduled from July 15, 2007 to August 10, 2007; or from August 4, 2007 to August 31, 2007 (Click to see detail July 15-August 10 program, and see August 4-August 31 program *** The scholarship will cover tuition, textbooks, boarding, and 800 Chinese Yuan for daily meals.).

All of those who took the HSK test at the Chinese Proficiency Testing (HSK) Center at Kennesaw State University in 2006 are eligible to apply for these scholarships; the deadline for application is April 10, 2007. The candidates will be selected and recommended to Beijing based on the test score, level of testing and schools’ participation before April 25, 2007. The winners will be notified via Email after we hear from Beijng.

** Application and related documents should be received by 5:00 p.m. on April 10, 2007 for candidate consideration. And all final winners will pay $50 non-refundable processing fee and $300 deposit if he or she accepts the award (The deposit goes to the travel expenses or expenses in China, the surplus will be refunded at the end of the program). The center will do the best to help process the visa application and plan the trip and book the airline ticket.
