Some positions require specific knowledge, experience or skill, such as designers, web authors, audio/video production assistants, etc.

Other positions require the student to complete assignments before being accepted. For example, DJs or on-air hosts must work with a station team (news, sports, promotions, etc.) before receiving a time slot, and opinion writers (columnists, reviewers) must first publish objective news stories. Section editors and managers typically are selected from within the organization. Any registered KSU student is eligible for membership.

Student Media Editor in Chief and Management Applications are accepted in November & April for the following summer, fall and spring terms. Remember to visit this page in November & April if you are interested in leading a KSUSM organization.

OWL Radio: KSU OWL Radio does not accept new applications from April through June. Applications will reopen in July.

Summer Months: Please note that KSUSM is not as active and publish less (if at all) over the summer. Between May and July you may have to wait longer for a response. Please be patient - you will be contacted when the students return.

Student Assistant Positions: In addition to student volunteer positions (as are most of our clubs and student organizations), Student Media also has a limited number of hourly paid student employee positions in the following areas: advertising & promotions, print & web design, distribution and office administration.

Due to the end of the semester, final exams, and staff changes, staff applications are not being accepted at this time. Applications will reopen June 3.
