Minutes
April 19, 2011
Attending:
Dr. Jerome Ratchford, Ryan Schill, Carolyn Carlson, Cory Mullis, Reginald Joseph, Christopher Michael Wong, Michelle Azriel, Dr. Jan Phillips, Ed Bonza. Member/Candidates: Caitlyn Van Orden, Ryan Schill. Candidate: Vanessa Jenkins.
Absent: Kelly Marble
The meeting was called to order by secretary to the board, E. Bonza at 1:20 p.m.
As several new members were present, introductions were made. The last spring SMB meeting is reserved for editor interviews and selection. Because all three publications (Sentinel, Talon, Share) were uncontested, it was suggested that all candidates be interviewed by the board at the same time. The board agreed.
Interviews for the 2011 fall term editor of The Sentinel and 2011-2012 Talon & Share began at 1:22 p.m.
After interviews the board moved into closed deliberations at 1:37 p.m. After discussion C. Wong made a motion that Van Orden & Schill be reappointed as Sentinel (Summer/Fall 2011 term) & Talon (2011-2012) editors, respectively, and that Jenkins be appointed as Share editor, 2011-2012. C. Mullis seconded. The motion carried
Guests and candidates present were invited back into the meeting room and position results announced.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:48 p.m.
