Noise and Cell Phone Policy

The Horace W. Sturgis Library offers a wide range of services and materials to students, faculty, staff, and other community patrons. While in the library, patrons expect to find a place for quiet research, study, and concentration.

Everyone in the library should be considerate of those around them.

If you are being disrupted in an area designated as "minimal noise," remind the person that the area is intended for quiet study. If this does not resolve the problem, please contact a library staff member. Also, upon entering the library, please SET CELL PHONE to ring in "SILENT" or "VIBRATE" mode.

Cell phone use is ONLY allowed in the lobby area of the library; there is NO CELL PHONE USE ALLOWED in the basement, first floor, second floor, and third floor of the library.
