Find An Article From A Citation
If you already have a citation for a particular article, you need to check and see if the library has access to the journal. The library can have journal issues in many different forms, both hardcopy and electronic.
- Check the library's periodical holdings list for the title of the journal, not the title of the article. Many databases refer to this as the article's source.
- If the journal title appears on the periodical holdings list, check each column to see if the citation's date falls into the dates listed.
- If the issue needed is held by the library, make a note of the call number and the format in which the issue appears, and go to the appropriate location in the library.
If the journal title does not appear on the periodical holdings list, or if the library doesn't have the particular issue you need, you will have to request the article through Interlibrary Loan.
