1. What are the library hours?

Monday-Thursday7 am – midnight
Friday7 am – 8 pm
Saturday8 am – 6 pm

2. How do I get to the Horace W. Sturgis Library? Where can I park?
The library is situated between the Social Sciences building and the Nursing building. It is directly behind the Carmichael Student Center, which sits upon the campus green. You may park anywhere on campus, but the lot with the easiest access is lot "C" in front of the Social Sciences building. Visitors may park in the Visitor Parking lot near the KSU bookstore.

3. How many books can I check out?
Up to 15 books can be checked out at one time.

4. Where can I add money to my ID for printing?
You may add money to your ID using the K-Cash machine in the copy room.

5. What is the process for getting an Interlibrary Loan?
Ensure that the Sturgis Library does not already own what you are looking for. Find the Interlibrary Loan request form online or at the Reference Desk. Fill it out completely and legibly, using no abbreviations. Hand it in to a Reference librarian or submit it electronically. Wait 7-10 business days for a member of the Sturgis staff to notify you that your selection is waiting at the Sturgis Circulation Desk for pickup.

6. Does the circulation desk give change?
Yes the circulation desk gives change for use with the copy machines.

7. Who is Horace W. Sturgis?
He was the inaugural President of Kennesaw State University. Betty Siegel is the second, and current President.

8. Does the library carry current textbooks?
No.

9. Can I check out children's books?
Yes.

10. Do you have videos?
A limited number of videos can be found in the Sturgis Library, or at the Music Library. They are only educational in nature, and not general release movies. They can be viewed on the video viewing stations on the first floor.

11. Where is the art gallery?
The Sturgis Library Art Gallery is on the basement level of the library, to the left of the elevator. The Fine Arts Gallery is located in the Wilson Building.

12. Can I use the books in the Bentley Rare Book Collection? How can I find a selection?
Anyone on campus can use the Bentley Rare Book Gallery by appointment. The books within this collection are listed in the regular online library catalog as "SPEC COLL" (special collection.)

13. Can I arrange a tour of the Rare Book Gallery?
Yes. Call the Rare Book Room at (770) 423-6535.

14. Can I eat and drink in the library?
Yes. The library does not prohibit food or drink. We do ask that you be careful around library materials, however.

15. Can I copy something from a disk? Can I copy from WebCT?
Yes, you may copy from a disk or WebCT.

16. Where are the restrooms?
On each floor the bathrooms are on the south end of the building near the staircase.

17. Where is the Microform Room?
It is along the south wall on the library's main level, adjacent to the periodical stacks.

18. What are the thesis and portfolio binding procedures?

19. How do I request books for my class? For me?

20. How do you handle gift books?
The library accepts gifts from donors with the understanding that the library is free to discard those that are not appropriate for our collection. The library staff will forward all calls concerning gift items to the Coordinator of Technical Services or the library Director. Gifts will be acknowledged if the donor’s name and address are made available. The library may, at the discretion of the Director, give an approximate value of the titles donated. A list of donated titles can also be furnished.

21. How do I get the GALILEO password?
You can access the password online at http://www.kennesaw.edu/library/resources/password.htm, or you can pick it up at the circulation desk.

22. How do I renew books online?

23. How can I find back issues of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution?
Back issues of the AJC are available in the periodical section or on microfiche from 18__-present. More recent issues are available in the Lexis-Nexis database.

24. What do I do if I want to learn more about library resources and services?

25. Can I use my cellphone in the library?
Out of consideration for other library patrons, no cell phone use is allowed in the library.
