Reference

Professional librarians who can make the library experience more rewarding and less time-consuming are eager to help at the Reference Desk. Their specialty is to help people navigate the broad range of resources available from the traditional print references and collections, to the constantly expanding repertoire of electronic references.

Reference librarians help KSU students, faculty and staff:

* Find facts and statistical data
* Find information on specific topics
* Narrow searches
* Learn to use all resources available
* Develop search strategies
* Learn to use numerous other resources

Library staff members also help visitors locate microform materials and operate the microfilm readers/printers. These items can be found on the first floor at the end of the periodical section in a separate room.

Reference desk hours during the semesters are:

"In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but how many can get through to you."
