Performance Opportunities at Kennesaw State

At KSU, you will have the opportunity to begin performing your first day on campus. Large ensembles include the KSU Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Chorale, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and the Chamber Singers. These ensembles stage multiple concerts each semester, and perform diverse and challenging repertoire from all periods and styles.  KSU students also perform in many of the local arts organizations, such as the Cobb Symphony Orchestra and the Capital City Opera, giving you the opportunity to broaden your education and increase your experience in the professional world. Smaller chamber ensembles include vocal groups such as the Men’s Ensemble and Women’s Ensemble, mixed chamber groups, and those for brass, woodwind, string, guitar and percussion. We also present a full opera and/or musical theatre production each year, giving you the opportunity to explore music for the stage. A strong piano program, which has grown vigorously over the past 30 years, is fully integrated with the other performance areas at KSU. Pianists have the opportunity to perform regularly in recital, chamber music, concerto, and master class settings. If your interest is in composition, an annual student composition recital offers young composers the opportunity to have their work heard in a public setting. The School of Music also presents a Concerto Competition and an Honors Recital each year featuring the performances of top students as soloists with larger ensembles or in a recital setting.
