Dr. Cecilia Piehl Price, flute and piccolo specialist, received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina and her Master and Doctorate Degrees in Music from The University of Alabama. For her doctorate, she wrote an annotated bibliography of Argentinean Solo Flute Music. Additionally, she has trained in flute instruction for the Suzuki Method. Her principal professors are Sheryl Cohen, Lars Nilsson and Beatriz Plana. In addition, she has performed in many master classes, including those of Aurèle Nicolet, Felix Renggli, Torkil Bye, to name a few. Prior to coming to Atlanta, Dr. Price performed for seven years as solo piccolo and assistant principal flute with the Nacional de Cuyo Symphony Orchestra in Mendoza, Argentina, where she was a frequent guest soloist. Additionally Price has appeared as guest soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Niteroi in Brazil, National Symphony Orchestra of Chile, Jackson Symphony Orchestra in Mississippi, and the Huxford Symphony Orchestra in Alabama. Formerly, she was piccoloist with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra in Alabama.
In Argentina, she performed extensively as a member of the renowned Hamelin, Pan and Enclave Flute Quartets and in other chamber venues.
