David Daly joined the staff of Kennesaw State University in 2008 and currently serves as the Director of Programming and Facilities for the KSU School of Music. In his fourteen-year career in arts administration, David has had the privilege to work with some of the world’s finest performing artists in many prominent settings. In his current role, David enjoys collaborating with students, faculty, and community partners to plan concert appearances and residencies by guest artists, and also oversees the operation of the School’s concert venues.
As a concert presenter, David is committed to connecting music students with the world’s top performing artists through artistic and educational opportunities. He has a passion for introducing innovative musical artists to new audiences, as evident through his leadership with the Kennesaw State Festival of New Music. With a focus on programming that blends traditional with contemporary, David hopes to provide music students and the community with a variety of performances that look ahead to new musical frontiers while honoring the traditions of the past.
David also has a strong background in event production and venue management. He has been involved in the production of a wide range of events and numerous concert performances featuring a variety of artists. David’s previous employment includes the Eastern Music Festival, and the Atlanta and Boston Symphony Orchestras, where his work focused primarily on the areas of orchestral operations and artistic administration. He has managed orchestra tours throughout the Southeastern U.S., New England, and Florida, including concerts at major national venues and both the Ojai and Ravinia Music Festivals.
David is a member of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters and the International Association of Venue Managers, and has served as a peer reviewer on grant panels for the Georgia Council for the Arts and the Fulton County Arts Council. David remains active as a performer and arranger, and has appeared and recorded with a number of local and regional acts. Previous performances have included the AthFest Music & Arts Festival in Athens, Georgia; the Eastern Trombone Workshop; the Midtown Music Festival in Atlanta; Jazz à Vienne in Vienne, France; and the Montreux Jazz Festival. David received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of Georgia, and is currently an associate in the 2015 cohort of the Coles Executive MBA Program at Kennesaw State University.
