Michael Moore
Artist- in-Residence in
Tuba and Euphonium

Principal Tuba of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 1968, Michael Moore joined the faculty at KSU as Artist-in-Residence on Tuba in 2001. Mr. Moore has made more than 50 orchestral recordings under the batons of Robert Shaw, Yoel Levi, Louis Lane, and Robert Spano. Mr. Moore serves as Founder and Artistic Director of the Atlanta Symphony Brass Quintet, President of the Atlanta Brass Society, and member of the Executive Board of the Atlanta Federation of Musicians. A soloist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Brass Band, and the Georgia Brass Band, Mr. Moore has given lectures and masterclasses at universities and colleges throughout the South. His principal teachers include Arnold Jacobs and Edward Kleinhammer of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Ward Fearn of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
