Richard Brady
Artist-in-Residence in Low Brass

An alumnus of the Brevard Music Center and Faculty Bass Trombonist at Brevard since 1991, Mr. Brady joined Kennesaw State University as Artist-in-Residence on Low Brass in 1998. He studied Bass Trombone with Arnold Jacobs, Edward Kleinhammer, Harry Maddox and William Hill. During his career he has performed and toured with Henry Mancini, Johnny Mathis and Burt Bacharach, performed in the Spoleto Festival in Italy and Charleston, South Carolina from 1975-1980, and toured and recorded with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Presently he is the Bass Trombone of the Atlanta Opera, the Atlanta Ballet, and the Columbus Symphony Orchestras. He performs with The Peachtree Brass, an award winning brass quintet based in Atlanta, and is a frequent studio musician.

Employing concepts learned from Arnold Jacobs, and informed by consultation with physicians, he has developed a unique and effective breathing technique to help students and professionals with development of lung capacity and breathing efficiency.
