This series of public lectures and concerts focused primarily on the American folksong but also touched on other areas including French, Creole and Jewish songs in the United States. |
| Dr. Laurence Sherr composed Fugitive Footsteps, a moving choral work to honor his mother and other holocaust survivors. This work features the words of Nobel Prize-winning poet, Nelly Sachs, herself a Holocaust survivor. On Nov. 5, 2002, the KSU Chamber Singers and guest baritone, Cantor Daniel Gale of Temple Beth Israel in Bay City, Michigan, debuted this moving tribute to survivors as part of "A Kristallnacht Commemoration: Honoring the Victims and Survivors of the Holocaust." |
