Music offers a tribute to those who built the Bailey Center
By Cheryl Anderson Brown
The KSU Wind Ensemble is dedicating its Sept. 24 concert to the hundreds of individuals who worked to design, construct and outfit the new Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center, which houses the 600-seat Concert Hall where the performance will take place at 8 p.m.
"We appreciate the work and talent that all of these men and women brought to building a truly outstanding facility for our music students," said Peter Witte, chair of the KSU Deparment of Music and director of the KSU Wind Ensemble. "Now, we want to use our talent to show them our appreciation. We want them to hear the true beauty of this building."
The Bailey Center was designed by Saunders & Wilkinson Stang & Newdow with acoustical design by Acoustic Dimensions. The building was constructed by The Facility Group. A number of subcontractors and campus agencies were also involved. Anyone who worked on the building is invited to attend and to bring family members free of charge.
The public is also invited to this free performance. For more information, contact the KSU Box Office at 770-423-6650.
