The annual meeting of NAASE is held in conjunction with the annual meetings of the Western Economic Association. NAASE members typically organize annual sports economics sessions at meetings of the Western Economic Association during the summer and the Southern Economic Association in the fall. NASSE encourages its members to organize sports economics sessions at other a national conferences and is open to facilitating colloqia to discuss special topics.The list below links to conferences featuring sports economics sessions in the near future. Western Economic Association (June 29-July 3, 2009 at the Sheraton Wall Centre Vancouver, British Columbia) — Contact Dave Berri or Tony Krautmann if you wish to present a paper in one of the many sports economics sessions.
The February 2009 issue of the Journal of Sports Economics was a special issue devoted to papers from the 83rd annual WEAI conference NAASE sessions. The February 2010 issue of the Journal of Sports Economics will once again be devoted to a conference volume for the WEAI/NAASE sessions. If you want your paper considered for publication in this special issue of the Journal of Sports Economics, you must submit a completed draft of the paper to one of the guest editors, NAASE president elect Brad Humphreys (brad.humphreys@ualberta.ca) and NAASE president Dennis Coates (coates@umbc.edu), by June 1st 2009. Papers submitted will be peer reviewed and considered for publication in the Journal of Sports Economics.
