Cuba
May 8-19, 2004
 
  • Explore Cuban society and learn about the US embargo and its impact
  • Learn about the politics of a one-party authoritarian regime
  • Study Cuba’s famed public health care system
  • Tour Old Havana, museums and the Plaza de la Revolución
  • Visit collective farms, clinics and a rural “model” commune in the mountains
  • Travel from Havana to the Bay of Pigs, Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, Trinidad and Pinar del Rio Province
  • Observe the work of Santeria and other traditional healers
  • Meet with members of the Communist Youth Group and the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution, and the Harley-Davidson Club of Cuba
  • Visit with fellow students from the University of Havana
  • Participate in cultural activities such as music, dance and baseball
  • Interact with Cubans from many different sectors of society
  • Experience Cuba, where Hemingway wrote The Old Man and the Sea, and much more….
