PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING LETTERS FROM THE
PRESIDENT IN SUPPORT OF PROPOSALS

All requests for letters from the President in support of proposals must be emailed to the Office of Sponsored Programs before they are sent to the President’s office.  These requests must include an electronic memo of project support from the faculty member’s Dean, a draft of the letter, and the proposal guidelines.   OSP must receive the electronic package at least 15 days prior to the submission deadline in order to refine the draft and receive the President’s signature.  Exceptions to this procedure will be rare.

Included in the draft letter must be all of the following:

Letters that do not follow these guidelines will be returned to PIs for completion.

OSP is unable to write letters but will edit them at the discretion of the staff in order to meet the requirements of the President’s office.
