National / International Reputation
Housed in Kennesaw State University's Department of Political Science and International Affairs, the MSCM program has been around for more than a decade and has graduated more than 250 students. Unlike most other graduate programs in Conflict Resolution or Conflict Management, our cohort model and close faculty supervision result in a graduation rate of more than 90%. Our faculty members are well known as both scholars and practitioners of Conflict Resolution and Conflict Management. Our faculty members frequently provide students with opportunities to gain experience by job shadowing and collaborating in service projects outside of the classroom.
The international weeklong study abroad experience brings students into contact with people directly affected by ongoing or recent conflicts, as well as with networking with professional peacebuilders working in these regions (e.g. Israel/Palestine, N. Ireland, etc). The combination of top-notch classroom preparation and hands-on experience makes this program unique. When our students graduate, they are ready for positions in the fields of conflict resolution, peacebuilding, mediation, ombudsing, humanitarian relief, negotiation, and business management.
Our graduates hold positions as practitioners, teachers and researchers within organizations that contribute to the successful resolution of conflict from local courts to the United Nations, and many places in between. Our faculty speak frequently at international conferences and publish in a wide variety of journals, in addition to lending their practical expertise to the development and evaluation of alternative dispute resolution programs at home and abroad.
