Learning Outcomes for Bachelor Degree Students in Political Science

The Department of Political Science and International Affairs is committed to a program, within and outside the classroom, for the development of students. The courses, curriculum and external course activities are integrated to assist students as they develop academically, intellectually, and socially. Of equal importance with concrete knowledge of institutions, political elites, populations, and behaviors is an understanding of the processes of interaction. Consequently, students are encouraged to interact with faculty and with other KSU students, and to participate in competitive simulations with students at other colleges and universities in programs such as the Mock Trial, Model U.N., Organization of African Unity, and Model Arab League, be active in student organizations, and engage in internship and cooperative learning experiences. Class lectures are supplemented with nationally and internationally known campus speakers, as well as local leaders, in a continuing effort to broaden the student experience.
