Registration
Guidelines
- OVERLOAD PERMISSION.
The normal load to be scheduled by students in good standing may not
exceed 18 hours, unless your cumulative grade point average is 3.50
or above. Exceptions must be approved by the Registrar prior to any
phase of registration. Graduate students may not enroll for more than
12 hours without prior approval from their graduate program director
and the Registrar.
- INTERNSHIPS.
Students enrolling in these courses must have prior approval from the
faculty, departmental coordinator and the Registrar prior to any phase
of registration.
- AUDIT.
Students wishing to audit courses they have registered for by web must
come by the Office of the Registrar and complete the proper paperwork
prior to the end of Late Registration Drop/Add. Financial Aid monies
are not available for audited courses.
- TIME CONFLICTS.
You will be allowed to web register for courses which have conflicting
schedules but will be given a message indicating the conflict. The conflicting
course will not be automatically dropped. You should use the drop procedure
as outlined on the worksheet to drop conflicting courses.
- DROP/ WITHDRAWAL
FROM SCHOOL. You will be allowed to drop all of your courses during
the stated registration dates through Web Registration, provided you
have not paid your fees. After payment of fees, a withdrawal form must
be completed in the Office of the Registrar. If your fees are paid with
Financial Aid monies, you must also formally withdraw through the Office
of the Registrar as stated above.
- DISABLED STUDENTS.
Students who require special assistance in the registration process
must contact the Disabled Student Services Office at (770) 423-6443.
- SCHEDULING.
Undergraduate students scheduled for 12 fee hours or more are classified
as full-time students. All others are classified as part-time. Graduate
students scheduled for 9 fee hours are classified as full-time students.
- ADD PERMISSIONS
INTO CLOSED SECTIONS. Add permissions can be issued by departmental
chairpersons but this will only be done in extreme situations and during
the Late Registration Drop/Add process. If approved, the student should
register by web for the specific course. Registration is the responsibility
of the student.
- PREREQUISITE
CHECK. The web registration system will inform you if you do not
meet the prerequisites. Please refer to the current catalog for the
specific prerequisites for the course(s) for which you try to register.
Please check with the Departmental chairperson should you encounter
difficulty. Transfer students, who have not had a transfer evaluation
completed, may experience some problems since prerequisites are checked
as part of the registration process. Students may have to select alternate
classes until the next semester.
- REGISTRATION
TIMES. All registration times during Priority and Final Registration
are based on the number of hours a student has earned. Under no circumstances
are these times changed. If a student fails to pay fees in Priority
Registration, the schedule will be deleted and the assignment of a new
registration time in Final Registration will be after all KSU students
have had the opportunity to register.
- REGISTRATION
AND FULL PAYMENT FOR THAT REGISTRATION IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
STUDENT BY THE POSTED DEADLINE DATE. IF AFTER REGISTERING YOUR PLANS
SHOULD CHANGE FOR THE SEMESTER YOU MUST OFFICIALLY WITHDRAW IN WRITING
THROUGH THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR (EVEN IF PAYMENT HAS NOT BEEN MET).
- PRINT A COPY
OF YOUR CLASS SCHEDULE! Check it for accuracy, whether your class
meets in the AM or PM, changes in times and/or location, amount due.
Printers are located in Kennesaw Hall 1501, in the Burruss Building,
Room 475 (when classes are in session), Student Center, Second Floor
and Bursar's area. You may also print from the web - www.kennesaw.edu.
Checking your schedule before Drop/Add is over will allow you to make
corrections.
- GRADES AT THE
END OF THE TERM. KSU DOES NOT MAIL GRADE REPORTS. YOU MAY CHECK YOUR
GRADES AT OUR WEB SITE (www.kennesaw.edu)
. YOU SHOULD REQUEST AN OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT SHOULD GRADES NEED TO BE
REPORTED FOR VERIFICATION PURPOSES.
