CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR
ANTICIPATED GRADUATION!


GRADUATION WILL BE HELD IN THE CONVOCATION CENTER ON THE KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS.

As you prepare for this special day, there are several things you will need to keep in mind.

  1. Graduation for Summer 2008 will be on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 and
    Wednesday, July 30, 2008. In order to allow students to invite family and friends to the graduation, the ceremonies as follows:

  1. The tentative graduation list will be posted at the front counter in the Office of the Registrar approximately one month before the dates of graduation. Please review the list at that time and report any discrepancies. Tentative honors are based on your last semester's GPA.

  2. If you have changed your plans about attending the ceremony from what you indicated on your Petition for Graduation, please notify Shelia Muller in the Office of the Registrar (770) 423-6200.

  3. Jostens is the only university approved vendor for graduation announcements. You may order your personalized announcements on-line by accessing the Jostens website at www.jostens.com.

  4. No tickets will be required for Summer 2008 graduation.

  5. Caps and gowns can be purchased at the University Bookstore. The Bookstore will be open as follows:

Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  1. A photographer from Chappell Studios will be taking a candid photograph of you at your special moment of recognition. You will receive a free proof of this photo in the mail within 5 to 7 days following the ceremony. You may place orders or obtain answers to questions at www.chappell.com or l-800-424-3686. Since professional photographs will be available, family members and guests are encouraged to remain in their seats, relax and enjoy the ceremony.


  2. Appropriate dress for graduation includes dark shoes (black) for men and women. Men should wear dark pants (black) and a tie. Please do not bring handbags or other personal items as there is no way to secure the line-up rooms while we are at the ceremony.

  3. Graduation with honor requires that students have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and earn at least 60 semester credit hours in residence at Kennesaw State University for the bachelor's degree. If you hold membership in an honor society and are entitled to wear honor cords, please obtain them from your honor society advisor.

  4. Students with incomplete grades and/or a deficiency in a course must make arrangements to clear these encumbrances by the dates listed below:

July 21, 2008 Advanced Standing results reported to Registrar.
July 21, 2008
Incomplete grades due. All transfer credit reported.
  1. All candidates who have indicated that they will attend the ceremony must report to the Kennesaw State University Convocation Center at the time listed in the graduation letter which will be mailed to you approximately two months before the date of graduation.

    Please note that it is extremely important that candidates arrive on time. It may not be possible to include late-arriving candidates in the procession. If you have a disability and require special accommodations, please let us know at least two weeks before the date of graduation.

  2. Information regarding the procession and the graduation ceremony will be communicated to the candidates during the time listed in the graduation letter mailed to you. After the ceremony, students should process out to the main entrance fountain area. Families should meet them there.

  3. The graduation exercises will begin promptly at the scheduled time in the Kennesaw State University Convocation Center .

  4. After final grades are received from the faculty, an audit of your credentials will be completed and diplomas will be mailed as soon thereafter as possible. If your address has changed, please complete a Change of Address form online or in the Registrar's office.

  5. You must have a grade for any class you have taken even if it does not apply to your degree . A candidate may not graduate with incomplete grades.

  6. If you have received a Stafford or PLUS loan while at Kennesaw State University, federal guidelines require that you attend an exit interview given by the Financial Aid Office. Failure to participate could result in the holding of your diploma. You may complete this process on the internet at: www.kennesaw.edu/financial_aid. Should you have any questions, you can: e-mail your question at this website; speak to a representative by phone at (770) 423-6074; or come in person to the Office of Student Financial Aid located  in Kennesaw Hall.

  7. ACCESS FOR GUESTS WITH DISABILITIES: Guests attending graduation ceremonies who will need accommodations because of a disabling condition are asked to provide that information in advance so that suitable arrangements can be made. Accommodations may include but are not limited to handicap-accessible parking, special seating, sign language interpreting, or large print text. Please complete the Accommodation Request Form.
