The Department of Residence Life, together with your
Resident Assistant staff, is working hard to create a
comfortable living-learning environment for you! Please
do not hesitate to contact the Resident Assistant (RA)
or the Residence Director (RD) in your
community with any questions or concerns you
may have.Living
on campus gives you the best of all worlds – independent
living in state-of-the-art residence halls, surrounded
by other students and staff in a socially and
academically supportive environment. With this
independence also comes responsibility.
Here are a few tips to
help you enjoy a successful on-campus living/learning
experience:
- Be neighborly
- Treat others as
you want to be treated AND as they want to be
treated
- Get to know your
roommates and neighbors
- Communicate openly
and directly – if your roommate or neighbor does
something that bothers you TALK TO THEM!
- Follow the rules
- Use common sense
and pay attention
- Lock your unit
door and use the peephole
- Keep records
accurate – update e-mail, phone, etc. in Owl Express
& Webroomz/AMS
- Attend all
mandatory meetings
- Participate in
programs and activities
- Get enough sleep,
eat healthy and exercise
- Manage your time
and money wisely
- Keep your
apartment clean
- Keep your guests
under control
- Cooperate with
staff – they are just doing their jobs!
- Don’t just
complain – offer solutions!
- Resolve your own
issues when possible, and please don’t have your
parents make a phone call that YOU should be making!
