  • The amount taxable by the government is only your base pay. The other amounts are
    tax-free benefits.

  • All service spent on active duty or in the Army National Guard or Army Reserve
counts towards pay and retirement. As a college freshman, you could enlist in the
National Guard, serve four years in the Guard, graduate from college, receive your commission as a 2nd Lieutenant and start out making over $48K a year! Or apply
for an ROTC scholarship and still start out making over $38K a year.

  • Oh yeah, this doesn’t include benefits like full medical and dental coverage for you
and your family, valued at another $4000+ a year!

  • Vacation you ask!? 30 days paid vacation per year along with Federal Holidays
and additional “training” holidays, putting you around 47 days a year.

You should be doing other things your last semester in college besides stressing over what’s next and how you’ll pay off your school debt! You should be looking forward to a challenging career and the opportunity to see the world!!
