What do you like most about KSU?

I love the fact that the professors are so encouraging and willing to help me succeed. Every corner I turn there is someone willing to mentor and help me, this atmosphere is truly amazing!

What is your favorite spot on campus?
In the nursing building there is what I like to refer to as "Storage Room B" –
it is a secret study spot that I and a few friends have to really buckle down and learn the material we need to. I can NOT disclose the specific location as then everyone would be there!

What is your favorite KSU experience thus far?
The opportunity to travel to Abu Dhabi. It was life changing and I am so appreciative to have been able to experience that with my professor and fellow students.

What do you want to do after you graduate?
I want to be a nurse! I am looking forward to working in Peds or the OR. I am eagerly anticipating that day.

What are you currently listening to on your IPod/Radio/mp3 player/computer?
Depeche Mode, Michael Jackson, anything from the hair bands of the 80's…

Has there been a professor or class that influenced your current major?
Everyone in nursing is truly an inspiration. I am so fortunate and appreciative to have every professor that has helped me along the way to be where I am today. They all know who they are and are very special to me. There are too many to name by name, I love them all so much. Each one of them has helped me be a better person than the day I was before, not only for my future profession but as a person. Thank you for the amazing staff!!

What do you like most about KSU?

The thing I like the most about KSU is that it's a large school with many people and social groups to interact with; however, it is not as spread out as some of the larger schools like UGA. I believe that Kennesaw will be able to do an excellent job in educating me for my future.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus would have to be the Student Center, because it is open and inviting to all students. I think it will be an exciting place to be to learn about other people and their cultures, but also to meet people who have things in common with me.

What is your favorite KSU experience thus far?
Since I'm only a freshman at KSU, I'm very limited on experiences, but one of my favorites would be going to orientation to meet other KSU students who could help me if I ever needed anything. Orientation was also exciting to see the people I could possibly have classes with and who may become really good friends.
I had the best orientation leader ever, Ahna Dillard you rock!

What do you want to do after you graduate?
I intend on graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
My ultimate goal would be to work at St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I love kids and caring for those in need.

What are you currently listening to on your IPod/Radio/mp3 player/computer?
I am currently listening to Starry Night by Chris August.

Has there been a professor or class that influenced your current major?
The person who influenced my major the most was my father. When I was only 12 years old I helped in saving my father's life, and from that point on, I've known that I was meant to be a nurse to help care for others.

What do you like most about KSU?
I love the size of KSU, it's just perfect for me because I love to meet new individuals from different backgrounds and culture. The professors seem to genuinely care about how I am performing and they have always been there to help when help is needed.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot is probably the soccer fields behind the Wellness Center because I love to play soccer. Any moment I get where the weather is nice and I have a moment to spare, you can find me out on the field.

What is your favorite KSU experience thus far?
My favorite experience at KSU is by far my study abroad trip to the Louis Pasteur Institute in Paris, France.
I had the most fun in my life while in Paris, and I also learned a great deal about scientific research at the Pasteur Institute. If I could, I would do it all over again a million times!

What do you want to do after you graduate?
This is a simple answer for me: medical school!

What are you currently listening to on your IPod/Radio/mp3 player/computer?
Currently on my ipod I am listening to Lupe Fiasco.

Has there been a professor or class that influenced your current major?
Every class I have taken at Kennesaw has been meaningful to me in one way or another, so it's hard to rank classes for me. However, my study abroad trip has to be on the top of the list. Also, Dr. Jerald Hendrix has
to be up there because his classes really make me work hard and make me truly learn the material.

What do you like most about KSU?

So far, the people and staff have blown me away. They have all been so kind and helpful. It really makes me feel comfortable about my decision to attend KSU.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
I haven't had a chance to see too much of the campus in detail, but so far I love both the Commons and the gym. That's sort of ironic, but I think I will be spending a good deal of time in each.

What is your favorite KSU experience thus far?
My experiences have been few so far, but each one has been great. Again, the people have all been incredibly helpful.

What do you want to do after you graduate?
I hope to serve as a youth minister for high school students. It's something I've developed a great passion and talent for, and something I love doing.

What are you currently listening to on your IPod/Radio/mp3 player/computer?
My iPod literally has it all; 3,000 songs in every genre. I love using it for parties because there's something for everyone! Playing right this moment happens to be Relient K.

Has there been a professor or class that influenced your current major?
Taking psychology in high school my senior year really showed me just how great my interest was for the subject. I knew I was interested in psychology, but learning about it causes me to want to learn more. That's how I know it stands above other subjects and is truly a passion.

What do you like most about KSU?

I love the campus at Kennesaw State University it is very warm, welcoming, and friendly. I have also never in my 12 years of education had teachers or professors any better than the ones at KSU. I also enjoy all of the accommodations and activities that are offered for students.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus would have to be the campus green. It’s beautiful with the trees that line the track, and it is right in the middle of everything. I also love the gazebo next to the social science building because it’s such a peaceful place to study in between classes.

What is your favorite KSU experience thus far?
My favorite experience has probably been the opportunities I’ve had to go to the dining hall with friends and enjoy eating some great food. The dining hall has such a great friendly staff and is very welcoming.

What do you want to do after you graduate?
I want to be able to use my degree to help people. My desire is to be able to work in a hospital, helping those in need. However, I will work wherever I’m placed just to be able to help people however and wherever I can.

What are you currently listening to on your IPod/Radio/mp3 player/computer?
I have gospel music and country music. I love a few different groups like The Bowling Family, Casting Crowns, Brad Paisley, and Craig Morgan.

Has there been a professor or class that influenced your current major?
Dr. Gail Scott has greatly influenced me. I really enjoyed her psychology class, and hope to take another one of her classes before I graduate. She was strict, but her class was demanding and it
was just what I needed to keep myself on track and keeping up with the materials.

Jim Triplett
Student Ali Kamran2011-2012 Recipient of: Bagwell College of Education Alumni ClubScholarship

What do you like most about KSU?
I really like that although KSU has a large and continuously growing student population, it still has somewhat of a small-school feeling. The class sizes aren’t too large, and the student-to-teacher ratio is still small enough to build relationships with professors. It feels good to not just be known by a student ID #.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the (TRAC) Teacher Resource & Activity Center, located inside of the Bagwell College of Education. I’m amazed at all of the great resources that are available for us pre-service teachers to use. I’m like a kid in a candy store whenever I go there.

What is your favorite KSU experience thus far?
My best KSU experience thus far was being part of the Bagwell College of Education’s 1st Urban Education option cohort last school year. I’m looking forward to the rigor, excitement, and experiences I will have this school year as part of the 2nd year of this two year program.

What do you want to do after you graduate?
When I graduate in May 2012, I plan to attend graduate school in the evenings here at KSU, beginning June 2012, to pursue a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, I hope to have a job upon graduation so I can work as an elementary school teacher beginning in the 2012-13 school year.

What are you currently listening to on your IPod/Radio/mp3 player/computer?
Encourage Yourself” (featuring Sheri Jones Moffett) by Donald Lawrence & The Tri-City Singers

Has there been a professor or class that influenced your current major?
I knew exactly what I wanted to major in when I transferred to KSU, so no class or professor helped to influence my decision. However, the great professors and classes that I’ve had while at KSU have helped in reassuring me that I have definitely chosen the right major.
