Kelly Dolan
Executive Director, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate

Kelly Dolan brings over twenty years of experience in fundraising, marketing, event planning and non-profit management to her position as Executive Director of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate. Komen Atlanta is the largest breast cancer organization in the state and has annual revenue of $4 million. The organization provides breast cancer screening, treatment and education programs for the local community and funds national cutting edge research to find a cure.
A native of Chicago, Kelly began her career at Leo Burnett, the world’s largest advertising agency, where she worked on the Seven-Up account. After relocating to Atlanta, she worked at Macy’s South where she developed a segmented marketing program for their tourist markets. She then headed the public relations department for Atlanta-based Wemmers Communications where she worked with healthcare and hospitality clients. She then joined Egleston Children’s Health Care System where she became the head of marketing and created and oversaw the System’s first integrated marketing plan. She was also part of the executive team that oversaw the merger between Egleston and Scottish Rite as they combined and became Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Kelly continued her career in non-profit management as President of the Atlanta Downtown Partnership and then Vice-President of Marketing for Central Atlanta Progress where she created marketing programs for downtown Atlanta. Prior to joining the Komen Foundation, she was President of Kelly Dolan Communications, a firm that specialized in providing strategic communications planning, media relations and special event planning for healthcare and non-profit clients.
Kelly was named by Atlanta Woman Magazine as one of the 2009 WOW Women of Atlanta. She is a four-time Public Relations Society of Georgia award winner including her receipt of the prestigious Phoenix Award for overall excellence in public relations. She has also been honored by the Georgia Society of Hospital Marketing and Public Relations with a Best of Show award. |

Johnnetta McSwain Clay, 38, a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Grew up in a poverty stricken, disease infested community where racial tension, injustice and inequality were real. She became a victim of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse from the tender age of five at the hands of her three uncles and other strange men her mother dated.
At the age of 30 At 32, she realized she still was a product of her environment and living in a community contaminated with every socio-economic disparity there was from being plagued with drugs, gang violence, murder, racism, disease, and self destruction. She relocated to Atlanta attended Kennesaw State University and in May, 2006 became
the first member of her family to ever receive a college degree. She went on to receive her Master of Social Work from Clark Atlanta.
Johnnetta McSwain created, Breaking the Cycle, Beating the Odds, with the goal of empowering women to break their negative cycles and
reach for their fullest potential in life.
Ms. McSwain is currently in production of a documentary, “The Road Beyond Abuse”, due to premiere in April 2009. This powerful program
is narrated by Jane Fonda. |
Lisa Borders
President of the Atlanta City Council

Lisa Borders is President of the Henry W. Grady Health System Foundation. The Grady Foundation is a philanthropic institution whose mission it is to maximize donations for the benefit of the health system while upholding public accountability and institutional integrity. As President, Lisa will help lead the upcoming Greater Grady capital campaign and guide the system’s fund-raising efforts during the most important period of Grady’s history.
Concurrently, Lisa Borders serves as President of the Atlanta City Council, having been elected in a citywide special election on August 10, 2004. She was re-elected by an overwhelming margin in 2005’s normal citywide election cycle. Her duties include presiding over Council meetings, appointing committee chairs and participants for Council and maintaining relationships with the Executive branch of government. Her community initiatives include increasing the availability of affordable housing, uncovering transportation solutions to address our region’s traffic challenges and promoting neighborhood safety and preservation.
Formerly, Lisa was CEO of LMB LLC, a consulting company advising clients on community reinvestment, external affairs, marketing and communications. Lisa also served as a Senior Vice President of Marketing and External Affairs with Cousins Properties Incorporated, an Atlanta-based Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).
Prior to joining Cousins, Lisa worked in the health care arena for over 15 years. She served as the Chief Administrator for Atlanta Women’s Specialists and also served as VP-Operations for Healthcap Atlanta (a
Physician Practice Management Company acquired by FPA Medical Management).
Lisa has worked in her community primarily focusing on family issues in the areas of education, healthcare and housing. She serves as a trustee at the Westminster Schools, a board member at Clark Atlanta University, and as a director of Saint Joseph’s Healthcare System. She is a member of Leadership Georgia and recruits and interviews students for her alma mater, Duke University, where she also serves on the Board of Visitors.
She has recently resigned from the boards of Research Atlanta, the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, Teach For America, Great Schools Atlanta and The Salvation Army in an effort to devote time to the City.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University (Durham, NC) and a Masters of Science in Health Administration from the University of Colorado (Denver, CO). She has one son, Garry, who has graduated
with honors from Georgia State University. |
