Prior to coming to Southern Polytechnic in July 2008, Dr. Stone served as the Vice Chancellor for Academic Planning and Programs and later as Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives at the Board of Regents for the University System of Georgia. |

Stephanie Davis
Stephanie Davis is Executive Director of the
Women’s Policy Group/Women’s Policy Education
Fund, the organization she launched 20 years
ago. She is the Mayor of Atlanta’s Policy Advisor
on Women’s Issues and is charged with helping to
end child prostitution and human trafficking, empowering
women through financial literacy, and
institutionalizing the living wage. Ms. Davis
serves on the Board of The White House Project
to promote women’s leadership in all spheres.
Keisha L. Hoerrner, Ph.D.
Keisha L. Hoerrner is the Chair for the Department
of First-Year Programs and an Associate Professor.
In January 2009, she accepted the position of
National Operations Director for the Not For Sale
Campaign. She is the co-author of the college level
instructor's manual for the book Not For
Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade &
How We Can Fight It and a contributor and editor
to the Bible study to accompany the book.
Debra Potter
Debra Potter is Director of Community Outreach
at Atlanta Perimeter Church. Perimeter Church
has hosted panel discussions involving groups like
Innocence Atlanta to discuss the underground
nature of child trafficking. Potter told AJC,
"We wanted to get involved, do something. This
affects everybody whether you have children or
not."

Alicia Thomas Morgan is the Georgia State Representative
for Cobb County’s 39th district. She is
the first African-American to serve in the Georgia
House of Representatives representing Cobb
County and is the youngest member of the Georgia
General Assembly. She serves on 4 committees
this legislative session: House Education,
Governmental Affairs, Children & Youth, and the

Renee Unterman is the District 45 Senator for
Georgia State Senate. Senator Unterman serves

With 12 years of legislative service under her belt, Representative Judy Manning has been appointed as the Chairman for the Children and Youth Committee. Representing District 32, the Chairman is serving herconstituents through membership on several other House committees. Manning is the Vice Chairman for the Interstate Cooperation Committee and a member of the Appropriations and Natural Resources & Environment Committees as well. |

Patty Durand has been Director of the
Georgia Chapter of the Sierra Club for
four years. The Sierra Club is the nation’s
largest and oldest grassroots advocacy
organization and was originally formed in
1892 by John Muir to protect Yosemite
National Park.
The Georgia Chapter has over 10,000
members with a mission to be the leading
organization that empowers Georgians to
preserve, protect and enjoy our environment.
The Georgia Chapter has volunteers
working on six main campaigns ranging
from Fresh Water and Wild lands Protections
to promoting Transit and Smart Energy
Solutions to our fossil fuel dependence. |
