Infromation Systems Support Professional
Granville L. Broomes, is the Information Systems Support Professional III for Kennesaw State University's Department of Strategic Security & Safety.
Granville is a graduate of Georgia Southern University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Information Technology, and is currently pursuing his Masters of Science in Information Technology at Southern Polytechnic State University. He currently holds certifications in Information Storage & Management (EMCPA), Network Infrastructure (Network+), IT Support (A+), and Virtual Emergency Operations Management (WebEOC).
As the lead IT member for Strategic Security and Safety, Granville has taken the role of Project Manager for the university’s IP-Video surveillance initiative, as well as the department’s webmaster, content management system administrator, server administrator, UHF radio system administrator, WebEOC board builder, and IT liaison for various other IT related projects involving the department of Strategic Security & Safety.
Granville served on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 2002 to 2006, and provided logistical and communication support during Operation Iraqi Freedom I & II. His performance as Plans Chief for 3rd Marine Air Wing during OIF II, where his responsibilities included the logistical deployment and redeployment of all 3rd MAW troops and cargo, resulted in him being awarded the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal. After leaving the Department of Defense in 2006, he enrolled in Georgia Southern and worked in the College of Information Technology’s IT help desk while completing his degree.
Granville began working for the department of Strategic Security & Safety at Kennesaw State in January of 2009.
