Bernard W. King
Security & Safety Coordinator
Seventeen years with the MARTA Police Department during which time he rose through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Major; served as Precinct Commander in all Five Precincts; Initiated State and National Accreditation process;
developed Train Patrol, Bicycle Patrol, CIU, SORT and CST; was involved in planning groups for the Democratic National Convention (1988),
Bi-centennial Olympic games (1996), Super Bowl XXXIII (1999), Y-2K Readiness (1999/2000) as well as numerous other sports events, Black College Spring Breaks, and Holiday Events.
Bernard has worked at Berry College over the past several years and also worked with the Girl Scouts assisting with the merger of the Northwest Georgia Council and the Pine valley Council into the Greater Atlanta Area Council.
He holds a B.S. in Behavioral Science from Shorter College. He has just completed his Master's project for a MPA from Columbus State University as well as completed the Georgia Chief's Law Enforcement Command College.
