Our nominee for Staff Employee of the Month has worked at KSU for
twenty-seven years. S/he is a true ambassador for our workplace and for the
university, making everyone—new employees, faculty, staff, students, and
visitors—feel welcome. S/he is the real deal, the whole package, the genuine
article. There are not enough superlatives to describe this employee but
here are a few: approachable, businesslike, creative, dedicated, exacting,
flexible, gracious, honest, industrious, judicious, knowledgeable, loyal,
mindful, optimistic, professional, quick-thinking, responsible, selfless,
tenacious, understanding, vibrant, and young at heart. In his/her daily
duties, this self-starter consistently takes on new challenges and
projects—from creating meeting agendas to planning retirement parties, from
serving on the Staff Council to handling finances, from learning about new
software on campus to scheduling staff develop retreats. S/he wants to see
coworkers succeed yet is always modest about her/his own numerous
accomplishments. Because s/he is so adept at anticipating needs, s/he makes
all our jobs a bit easier. This employee is indispensable and truly the
heart or our workplace. S/he richly deserves this long-overdue accolade.
During my brief time with my department, it has
become clear that this individual is the “go to” person that can truly make
things happen. S/he not only facilitates with day-to-day operations within
the department, but also goes out of his/her way to make our jobs a little
bit easier. I am impressed by his/her egalitarian treatment of all
colleagues, regardless of professional position. My hope is that s/he will
be recognized for his/her untiring efforts to serve the campus community.
This stellar employee contributes to the
efficiency of our department by their helpfulness and dedication to others.
They consistently exhibit a cheerful & positive attitude. They inspire a
sense of belonging and teamwork that leads to a welcoming department and
campus community. This hard-working, dependable person does what is needed
to get the job done with a flair of professionalism that makes the
department and University really shine. This employee is the
Best-of-the-Best!
