Staff Employee of the Month

August - Michele Miller
Institute for Global Initiatives

As we welcome another year of international students, Michele works tirelessly to make sure that they all have a place to lay their heads, have food in their tummies, and are registered for the proper classes. She also handles a number of international scholars coming to campus under various circumstances. Michele is always unflappable, even in a high stress environment. She helps international scholars have a pleasant and enjoyable experience while here in Georgia, sometimes thousands of miles away from home. I can't think of a better individual to perform this extensive duty. She always exhibits grace under pressure and treats everyone with respect and kindness. I'm honored to call this person a colleague at Kennesaw State University. A nomination for her is long overdue, but she is not one to stand out or push her work forward to get noticed. Amazing job, Michele!

The Staff Employee of the Month is supervised and awarded throughout the year by Staff Awards and Recognition Committee, made up of members of Staff Senate. Once a month, the nominations that have been gathered are put to a vote by the committee and the results determine the Staff Employee of the month for that month (click here for the online submission form).

The Employee of the Month receives $100 in his/her paycheck from the KSU Foundation, a $25 gift card from the KSU Bookstore, a certificate signed by President Papp, a poster, a parking space of his/her choice for a month, and automatic nomination for Staff Employee of the Year.

In addition to the Staff Employee of the Month, the Staff Awards and Recognition Committee facilitates the voting for the annual general staff awards which are held annually at the Opening of School.
