I am pleased to nominate Debra for the Staff
Employee of the Month because she is a tremendous asset to both KSU and the
two departments to which she person provides support. She provides stellar,
top-notch assistance to three high-level administrators and is the epitome
of multi-tasking. Debra single-handedly and adeptly manages the daily
affairs of both offices, which involves navigating and pleasing three
distinctly different personalities. In sum, her job is not an easy feat nor
is it for the faint of heart; however, she does it graciously and with a
smile. Debra is responsible for office management, reception of all office
visitors, budget and p-card support, calendar management, record management,
travel and expense reporting, development of meeting agendas and capturing
of meeting minutes, and many other forms of executive support. She is an
exemplar of what an administrative professional should be: extremely
detail-oriented, warm and personable, intelligent, a proactive thinker,
independent and self-sufficient, and responsible and accountable. These are
just a few of the adjectives that I (and many others) would use to describe
her. Debra is quite simply a joy to work with. I feel comfortable in saying
that I (as well as my other two colleagues to whom this person provides
support) would be lost at sea if not for her ability to keep us anchored.
Although KSU has many dedicated and deserving individuals for this award, I
am nominating Debra Hill to show my appreciation for all that she does for
me and for the office. Great job, Debra!

The Staff Employee of the Month is supervised and
awarded throughout the year by Staff Awards and Recognition Committee, made
up of members of Staff Senate. Once a month, the nominations that have been
gathered are put to a vote by the committee and the results determine the
Staff Employee of the month for that month (click here for
the online submission form).
The Employee of the Month receives $100 in
his/her paycheck from the KSU Foundation, a $25 gift card from the KSU
Bookstore, a certificate signed by President Papp, a poster, a parking space
of his/her choice for a month, and automatic nomination for Staff Employee
of the Year.
In addition to the Staff Employee of the
Month, the Staff Awards and Recognition Committee facilitates the voting for
the annual general staff awards which are held annually at the Opening of
School. |
