Staff Employee of the Month

November - Katherine Acuff
School of Accountancy

Katherine is the very embodiment of a professional, hard-working leader. She was initially hired as administrative assistant for our department, but later promoted to serve as a program manager. During this time, her replacement (as administrative assistant) left, and Katherine has been serving in both roles. Not only has she never once complained, but she has put in numerous hours covering both roles (she was still there Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. when I dropped something at my office). I use the description “leader” because Katherine has set an example that is followed by the student assistants we have hired. Even in the most hectic times, you can count on her to accomplish whatever you need done, and she does it with a smile. Katherine is kind to everyone with whom she interacts. I cannot think of another person who deserves this award more!. Excellent work, Katherine!

The Employee of the Month is supervised and awarded throughout the year by Staff Awards and Recognition Committee, made up of members of Staff Senate. Once a month, the nominations that have been gathered are put to a vote by the committee and the results determine the Employee of the month for that month (click here for the online submission form).

The Employee of the Month receives several awards, including a $100.00 check from the KSU Foundation, a $25.00 check from the KSU Bookstore, a framed certificate, a banner, and a parking space of their choice for the entire month.

In addition to the Staff Employee of the Month, the Staff Awards and Recognition Committee facilitates the voting for the annual general staff awards which are held annually at the Opening of School.
