CONFERENCE INFORMATION / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the State Staff Council Conference. Please click on any of the following questions for more information.

Who can attend the conference?
Any staff member employed by the University System of Georgia may attend the conference.
What if my college/university does not have a staff council?
We will host a special workshop for those attendees interested in learning how to start a staff council at their institution! When registering, please check the box indicating that you are interested in this information.
How much does it cost to attend the conference?
Registration Fee: $65 before September 19, 2008 (This deadline has been extended)
$75 on or after September 19, 2008
What does the conference fee include?
The conference fee includes access to all workshops and sessions. It also includes dinner on Thursday evening and lunch on Friday afternoon.
Are refunds available?
Refunds are not available; however, if an attendee is unavailable they may send a replacement. Please email Kathy Rechsteiner if you need to send a replacement.
How do I register for the conference?
To register for the 2008 State Staff Council Conference, please click here.
You will be
re-routed to the KSU Mall, which processes conference registration.
Next, under the categories option, click conferences. Then, click on
the State Staff Council Conference option. Each attendee must
have a separate application form. To access additional
registration forms, click the continue Shopping button. You will
be able to pay for all attendees with one transaction when checking
out.
If you are paying by institutional check, you’ll need to enclose a
registration form for each attendee and your confirmation e-mail
from the KSU Mall. Mail the registration form along with your check

What to Send Prior to the Conference
1. Best Ideas – Every institution has a program or event that is
well received by fellow staff members. We will be compiling a list
of all of these “best ideas” to share with conference attendees. Example may include events, programs,
seminars, fundraisers, scholarship opportunities, community
projects, professional development opportunities, etc.

2. Pictures of Your Council in Action – We want to show-off your
council’s activities during our opening session slideshow! Email
pictures of your events and/or programs to
Chris
Ward. Please include your institution’s name, event
name, and event date. Also, make sure to send jpg. photos that are a
minimum of 1024 x 768 pixels. Submission deadline is Thursday,
September 18, 2008.
What to Bring to the Conference
1. Display Board Showcasing Your Staff Council – During the
conference, attendees will have an opportunity to display
information about their specific institution and council. Each council is asked to decorate a display board with information about their council, pictures, and examples of promotional materials, giveaways, flyers, etc. You will be able to set up your display board after you check in at our registration area.
2. Door Prizes - As is tradition, each institution is asked to donate two doorprizes (basket of goodies, plants, gift cards, etc.) for the conference. Please label your doorprize with your institutions name. You will be able to drop these items off when you check-in at our registration area.
What should I wear?
Suggested Attire:
Thursday afternoon: Business Casual (ex. sacks with a blouse/golf shirt). Please wear your school colors!
Thursday evening: Professional (ex. slacks/skirt/ dress)
Friday morning/afternoon: Business Casual (ex. sacks with a blouse/golf shirt)
I am a local attendee who will not be staying at a hotel. Will there be a place where I can change into professional attire before Thursday's dinner reception?
Yes, our Employee Fitness Center locker rooms will be available to conference attendees from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th.
