Purpose
The purpose of the GEWN Scholarship is to assist in the college education of Georgia’s female Leaders of Tomorrow. GEWN will award a total of three $3,000 scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year to female, non-traditional college students. Non-traditional is defined as a student who is at least 24 years old. To be eligible, applicants must be full-time students who are enrolled or plan to enroll for the academic year in a metropolitan Atlanta accredited college or university in a four-year undergraduate program of study.
Criteria — To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant must
- Be a female at least 24 years of age by August 1, 2013
- Be enrolled as a full-time student for both semesters of the 2013-2014 academic year in a four-year undergraduate program of study at a metropolitan Atlanta accredited college or university
- Have completed at least one year of college
- Have a college grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Have demonstrated leadership abilities in school, work and/or community.
Adult Learner Programs Scholarship Committee
The Adult Learner Programs Scholarship Committee is responsible for selecting candidates for the following KSU scholarships annually: Betty Zola Murdock Memorial Scholarship, Dreams Matter Annual Scholarship, Osher Reentry Scholars, Toby Hopper Endowed Scholarship for Single Mothers, Janice Bauer-Manheim Annual Scholarship, and Steven L. Lovig Endowed Scholarship. We also promote the Georgia Executive Women's Network Scholarship for adult learner women.
