How to Get Your Career Off the Ground

Presented by disAbled Student Support Services and Career Services at Kennesaw State University

This skills development workshop co-sponsored by disAbled Student Support Services and the Career Services Center addresses the application of the Americans with Disabilities Act as it applies to searching for a career. Participants have an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences in finding the career which best fits their needs.

Topics include:

Resource lists for effective career searches for those with disabilities will be given.

Effective methods of disability disclosure will be discussed. When and how to disclose a disability as well as the advantages and disadvantages of disclosing a disability in a work related situation are debated in open discussion. Individualized suggestions for particular situations and specific disabilities will be offered by the facilitator if desired.
