The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Questioning and Queer (GLBTIQ) Student Resource Center’s mission is to provide a safe, supportive and inclusive space where students of all gender identities, gender expressions and sexual orientations can come to receive support, resources and referrals in order to aid in the realization of their fullest potential as students, individuals, leaders, community members and advocates.
The Center will accomplish its mission by
Creating a welcoming environment that is accessible to all members of the KSU community interested in furthering their understanding and involvement in GLBTIQ issues on campus and in the community as a whole.
Acting as central “hub” for all GLBTIQ related services available across campus; ensuring the most effective use of resources available by creating a system that is easily navigated by students, staff and faculty.
Offering a variety of resources in the form of art, books, journals, magazines, movies and music relevant to the many topics within the GLBTIQ community
Working with various departments on campus to offer advising, advocacy, counseling, health services/awareness, mentorship, networking, tutoring and workshop services that are purposefully inclusive of GLBTIQ students, staff and faculty.
Creating and hosting a variety of programs aimed at raising awareness around different issues and concerns faced by the various populations within the GLBTIQ community.
Focusing on intersections of identities and exploring how these identities impact the individual and community as a whole.
