- Agency contact info will be provided with your Service Verification Form.
- Students must then contact agency directly for days/times of volunteering availability.
- Most agencies that deal directly with people on a one-on-one basis require a background check.
- You cannot get credit for volunteering at your place of employment.
- You cannot get credit for volunteering at any religious institution.

| Cherokee County Humane Society | Acworth | Work in the animal shelter and in a Certificate Program to promote spaying and neutering of pets. More Information |
| Dog Pack Rescue | Canton | Volunteers are needed to assist with cleaning, feeding/watering, walking and socializing with the animals. More Information |

| Iron Gait Percherons, Inc. | Waleska | IGP rescues horses from abuse, neglect, abandonment, slaughter, or victims of the economy, refurbishes all their medical, nutrional, and emotional needs, retrains them for new careers, and finds them safe, loving forever homes. Volunteers will help with the daily care of the horses (grooming, feeding, etc.) and facilities, help with marketing, assistance with community outreach, adn other duties based upon horse related skills and experience. All new volunteers must attend an orientation that is held monthly or as needed! |

Arts & Exhibits
| Children's PEACE Center | Acworth | Volunteers are needed for a number of programs, including puppeteers/play directors, peace guides, peace instructors, camp counselors, marketing coordinators, development/fundraising coordinators, grant writers, financial planners, educators-in-training to develop lesson plans, writers, graphic designers, artists, clerical/data entry, administrative assistants, webmasters, and individuals to maintain their Facebook page. Background check required - volunteer needs to get. Training (1-2 hours) and orientation (1 hour) required - held when volunteers are available. Volunteers must volunteer minimum of 2 hours for regular volunteering and 8 hours for a camp. |

Mentoring/Tutoring Activities - Children
| Boys & Girls Club - Cherokee | Canton | Youth guidance organization for kids 6-12 years. Open after school and during the summer to give youth a positive place to receive education help and recreational activities. Help build children's self-esteem and self worth by providing fun activities with a purpose. Hours: Monday - Friday from 2:30 - 8:00 pm. Register for required orientation here. |
| Cherokee Charter Academy

Canton | CCA serves students in grades K-8. Volunteers would tutor one-on-one or small groups of students in math or langauge arts instructions. Volunteers would also be responsible for keeping attendance and managing responsible behavior within the groups. Need volunteers Monday - Thursday from 2:45 pm until 4:30 pm. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 10 days of service during the semester. |
| Cherokee County Foster & Adoptive Parents Association | Canton | Volunteers are needed to assist with respite care events for foster children. Respite care is defined as giving a caretaker a break from their everyday routine so they can do what they want to do on their own time. Volunteers are also needed to assist with special events and fundraisers. No background check required. Orientation held first day of volunteering. Events are held monthly - typically on Saturdays. | The Lionheart School | Canton | Volunteers are needed to assist with routine farm maintenance such as starting seeds, planting, weeding, harvesting, building beds, amending soil, building farm infrastructure. Lionheart may offer opportunities to volunteer on the farm with children or other children from the community during class time or summer camps. |
