Faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate. VKSU has both dated events and on-going opportunities in many areas of interest. The dated events are outlined below. Please review and then come to the VKSU office (enter at Student Center room 267) to let us know where you would like to volunteer and to get your Service Verification Form. Please Note Policies that are Effective Summer 2012:
- Volunteers must register with VKSU prior to volunteering for any volunteer assignment.
- Volunteers can only volunteer at agencies and/or events that have been approved by VKSU prior to their start date. Agencies and/or events cannot be approved after you have you begun volunteering and/or completed your volunteer assignment. VKSU reserves the right to remove and/or add an agency and/or event at any time.
- All VKSU hours must be documented on a VKSU Service Verification Form that you obtain from the VKSU office prior to your volunteer activity.
- Letters, emails, faxes, and/or phone calls from the individual agencies will not be accepted.
- VKSU will not award volunteer credit to any volunteer who fails to follow these policies and procedures!

SUMMER OFF-CAMPUS EVENTS
- Charity Dog Wash
- Ahimsa House helps the people and pets of domestic violence get to safety. Charity dog washes are one of Ahimsa House's biggest fundraisers throughout the year.
- As a dog wash volunteer, you will be personally bathing dogs at a retail location.
- Volunteers should come dressed appropriately to get wet.
- Volunteers will also be required to interact with the public so a professional and customer-service focused attitude is a must.
- Volunteers must email the coordiantor in order to reserve your volunteer spot. Deadlines listed below.
- In order to receive credits for KSU's program, students must show up and present their hours form to the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Directions will be emailed to students once their volunteer slot has been confirmed.

- Office Assistants
- Volunteers will help make phone calls, stuff envelopes, and canvass neighborhoods and help get the word out about the Walk and its importance. Project ends November 2013!
- Monday - Friday
- Daytime and evening hours until 9:00 pm
- International students are not eligible for this volunteer assignment!!!
- Annual Luau Cookout
- Need volunteers to serve food, supervise children, and perform other various duties as determined by the Volunteer Coordinator.

- All volunteers must complete a background check at least one week prior to the event!
- Annual Salute to America Concert and Fireworks
- Duties could involve: answering questions at the info table, picking up trash, assisting the vendors, and other activities as assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator.

- Adopt-A-Mile
- Opportunities are available to work at the registration table and/or clean a dedicated area of land along a designated roadway.

- 7:30 am - 12:30 pm (Must volunteer a minimum of 2 hours of service!)

- Five volunteer areas:
- Hotel Shuttle Volunteers - greet & direct guests to shuttles
- Monday-Thursday (6am-11am / 11am-3:30pm / 3pm-7:30pm)
- Convention Center Shuttle/Directional - greet & direct guests to center
- Monday-Thursday (7am-11:30pm / 11pm-3:30pm)
- Guest Tour Information - guest tours during registration
- Monday - Thursday (7:30am-12:30pm / 12:30pm-5:30pm)
- GA World Congress Ctrs Ambassador - serve as directional staff
- Monday - Thursday (7am-Noon / Noon-5pm)
- Meeting Kiosk - deliver general summit information
- Monday - Wednesday (7am-Noon / Noon-5pm)
- Hotel Shuttle Volunteers - greet & direct guests to shuttles
- Volunteers will receive a polo volunteer shirt!
- Volunteers are responsible for their own food!
- Orientaion & training sessions will be held closer to the date of the event! You will get more information about these meetings when you register for this assignment!

- Volunteers needed to assist with summer camp activities that involve children.
- Must complete a background check that costs $8.50 to the volunteer and attend an orientaiton before starting!

- July 24 from 11:15 am - 1:15 pm
- United Way 2-1-1 Follow Up Calls
- Volunteers will conduct follow up services in which cleints are contacted to complete a short interview over the telephone. Volunteers will ask questions on the client's experience with United Way 2-1-1 and whether their needs were met by the agencies they were referred to. Volunteers will record responses from interviewees and operate the internal database system to record those responses.
