Volunteers are also needed at other hours to assist with their marketing by attending special events at local venues and registering patrons at the events. | Embraced Atlanta, Inc. | Atlanta | Embraced is a non-profit organization that collects and shares gently-used orthopedic and prosthetic equipment with individuals in need. Embraced sets up collection bins in doctor offices, physical therapy clinics, etc., which serve as a convenient means for the public to donate their medical equipment. Embraced then redistributes this equipment to individuals in need, both locally and globally. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: marketing their services to agencies that can benefit from their services, collecting and entering data, special events work, and assisting with grant writing. | HomeStretch | Roswell | Homestretch guides homeless working families with minor children in North Metro Atlanta toward increased self-reliance and stability by providing life skills training, mentoring, and supportive housing. Volunteer opportunities are available in the following major areas: administration, property, and family programs. Administration: General office work – answer phones, greet visitors, and assist staff with clerical projects; Special projects – create newsletters, direct mailings, and stuffing envelopes; Computer work – as needed for special and on-going projects (using Excel and Word); Assist with fund-raising events held throughout the year. Overnight volunteers help set up, eat the evening meal with the men, and take turns staying awake through the night. Dinner volunteers make the meal ahead of time and deliver and serve the men.
