  • Agency contact info will be provided with your Service Verification Form.
  • Students must then contact agency directly for days/times of volunteering availability.
  • Most agencies that deal directly with people on a one-on-one basis require a background check.
  • You cannot get credit for volunteering at your place of employment.


Amedisys Hospice Service Cartersville

Work with hospice patients, family members, and staff members through direct care, running errands, reading, yard or house work, or clerical/administrative support. More Information
Asian Youth Empowerment Program Norcross Volunteers will tutor with high school homework, teach students the GED tests, GHSGT/Gateway test, Compass tests, teach ESL classes, mentor youth, help them to attain their driver's license, etc. We are looking for devoted volunteers who wish to serve Vietnamese population. Fluency in Vietnamese is not required but appreciated. Volunteers must be sensitive to the cultural and bilingual needs/level of youth.

Background check is required - by agency.
Orientation is required - scheduled at various times.
Minimum length of service = 2 to 4 hrs/week for one (1) semester.

Volunteers will help greet and assist donors and customers, sort donated items, stock the store, and keep the store looking organized and clean. More Information
Boys & Girls Club Lawrenceville After-school program for kids ages 6-18. Volunteers are needed to assist with the tutoring, homework, group games, and/or mentoring program. Tutoring involves helping students in their subject of need. The subjects have been chosen based on report card grades and parent agreement. With the mentoring program, KSU students will be paired with one student from the club that has been referred to the mentoring program.

Time commitment:
  • Tutoring - Two (2) hours per week
  • Mentoring - One (1) hour week

CPACS offers health and social services to Asians and Pacific Islanders (API) in the greater-Atlanta area. 

Volunteer opportunities are available to assist with Youth Programs. Volunteers will serve as tutors/homework assistants at various locations in Clarkston, Marietta, Atlanta, Norcross, and Chamblee.
Volunteers opportunities to also enter data into the agency database, assist with administrative duties around the office, and work directly with the clients if possessing Asian language skills. More Information
Evercare Hospice Norcross Volunteers are needed to sit with patients, read, run errands, help with crafts, etc.
Furkids Petsmart in Buford and Thrift Store in Norcross Volunteers care for the basic needs of the animals at the Adoption Centers or shelter by providing love, fresh food and water, and cleaning the cages. Additionally, volunteers are needed to work in the Thrift Store that is operated by Furkids.

Georgia SPCA Suwanee and Buford Volunteers are needed to assist with the following opportunties: working in the kennel, assisting in the office, and volunteering at the thrift store in Buford. All new volunteers must attend an orientation that is held once or twice a month.
Global Soap Project Norcross Sort, clean, cut, and package soap. The purpose of the program is to improve global health and save lives by providing discarded/recycled soap to vulnerable populations. MLS = 3 hour shift!

Gwinnett County Public Library Lawrenceville Work in various areas within the library. Hours vary according to branch location.
Habitat for Humanity Lawrenceville Need volunteers to work in the ReStore location. Volunteers will be responsible for cleaning, organizing, and assisting the customers. Minimum length of service is a four (4) hour shift!
Junior Achievement of Georgia Various schools Help in providing services to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, understand business and economics and be workforce ready. Kindergarten through 6th grade students are involved with learning economic concepts which are presented in a series of 7 themes. More Information
Norcross Cooperative Ministries Norcross Volunteers will assist in the food pantry, clothing closet, receive and sort donations, perform various office duties, and help with client intake. More Information
SOS - Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen Lawrenceville A pet food bank serving North and Central Georgia. Helping to feed hungry pets and keep families together. Volunteers are needed to assist in the warehouse sorting and handing out pet food or assisting at the Thrift Store. Opportunities are also available to help with special events and/or fundraisers. Volunteers who have experience with creating/maintaining websites or with basic computer skills could also be needed. More Information
St. Vincent de Paul Society Duluth, Lawrenceville, Lilburn Volunteers are needed for a number of programs, including food pantries, clothing closets, counseling services, after-school programs, health care needs, housing, and English-as-a-second-language classes.Programs vary according to the location. More Information
The Sheltering Arms Various Metro Atlanta Locations Works with parents to increase their understanding of child development and reduce parenting stress. Connects families with local resources. More Information
Wellspring Living Thrift Store Duluth Volunteers will sort and price donations (clothes, accessories, and furniture), help customers on the sales floor, and run the cash register. The proceeds that are collected from the sales at the thrift store help assist women involved in human trafficking. All volunteers will receive a 25 percent discount at the store. More Information
Wheat Mission Norcross Volunteers are needed to help with the disabled in the Korean community - tutoring after-school, sign language, etc.
