ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES


Please Note Policies that are Effective Summer 2012:

  • Volunteers must register with VKSU prior to volunteering for any volunteer assignment.
  • Volunteers can only volunteer at agencies and/or events that have been approved by VKSU prior to their start date.
  • Agencies and/or events cannot be approved after you have you begun volunteering and/or completed your volunteer assignment.
  • VKSU reserves the right to remove and/or add an agency and/or event at any time.
  • All VKSU hours must be documented on a VKSU Service Verification Form that you obtain from the VKSU office prior to your volunteer activity.
  • Letters, emails, faxes, and/or phone calls from the individual agencies will not be accepted.
  • VKSU will not award volunteer credit to any volunteer who fails to follow these policies and procedures!
KSU College of the Arts - Box Office KSU Campus Ushering at the Stillwell Theater & Bailey Performance Center. Show people were to sit, handle out programs, answer general questions.

General Information:

  • VKSU volunteers must sign up for a minimum of seven (7) shows for the entire semester!
  • VKSU will need verfication that you have registered for seven (7) dates of service before your allowed to get the paperwork to record your hours.
  • You can pick and choose what shows that you register for during the semester, but you must register for seven (7) service dates.
  • All ushers must attend an usher training session that will be held at the beginning of the semester. The training roughly will be held within the first two (2) weeks of the semester!
  • If you miss one event and fail to cancel your service time you could be added to the No Volunteer List!!! You must work for all the shows selected at the beginning of the semester! If changes are needed, please speak with a representative from the Box Office regarding the changes!
  • Dress cose is involved for all shows!

More Information:

  • Traning sessions might possibly be added later in the semester. Please keep checking this website for any updated information!
  • VKSU volunteers will no longer be able to volunteer for one or two shows only!
  • International tuition waiver students can volunteer their entire twenty (20) hours of service for this assignment, but spaces are limited!
KSU Culinary & Hospitality Services KSU Campus Volunteers will help setup the Farmers Market; assist vendors and customers with various needs; and close down the event at the end of the day.
  • Market is held every Thursday starting May 15 until August 7.
  • Setup starts at 3:00 pm and ends at 4:30 pm!
  • Close down is from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm!
  • International tuition waiver students can't volunteer for a total of more than six (6) hours of service for this assignment!
KSU Grounds Department Various locations around KSU Volunteers are needed to help mow the grass, cut weeds, edge, pick up trash, water the plants, prune, and complete other various tasks as determined by the Crew Supervisor.

General Information:

  • Work days are held every 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of the month!
  • Two shifts:
    • 6:30 am - 11:30 pm (5 hours)
    • 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm (1.5 hours)
  • You must stay for the entire shift!
  • International waiver students can only volunteer a maximum of six (6) hours of service for this assignment!
Museum of History & Holocaust Education KSU Center Work directly with the staff of the exhibit; schedule and give tours; greet visitors; assist staff with maintenance and resource development.

General Information:

  • Volunteers are expected to dedicate 4-8 hours weekly.
  • Must wear business casual attire.
  • Monday - Friday
  • 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Opportunities are very limited!
